Job summary

Merck is seeking an Associate Director Estimator to deliver cost solutions for capital projects from feasibility through funding and start-up. You will provide technical support for planning, estimating TIC, and benchmarking across multi-projects.

The role requires leading estimation efforts, validating third-party estimates, conducting risk analysis, and mentoring the estimating team during FEL processes. Hybrid work with up to 30% travel; relocation not required.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of estimating, project control, capital management and/or project management experience.
• Strong knowledge of estimating, capital management and financial processes.
• Broad pharma/biotech industry knowledge across multiple project types and lines of business.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with leadership experience.
• Strong Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint skills.
• Ability to travel up to 30% with remote work flexibility.

Responsibilities

• Lead estimating for capital and expense projects with cross-functional teams.
• Prepare TIC estimates with conceptual schedules and staffing plans.
• Gather and validate estimate information from multiple groups.
• Review and validate third-party estimates and reconcile costs.
• Lead risk analysis sessions and contingency determinations.
• Support project benchmarking and database maintenance.
• Develop project budgets and cost breakdowns aligned to WBS.
