Job summary

Merck & Co., Inc. is seeking an Associate Director Estimator to lead cost estimating for capital projects across multiple sites, delivering TIC estimates, conceptual schedules, and staffing plans to support front-end funding and project execution.

The role requires collaboration with AE/CM, Digital/IT, and sponsors, review of external estimates, and mentorship of teams through FEL phases while driving risk analysis and cost-trending initiatives.

Qualifications

10+ years of estimating, project control, capital management and/or project management experience.
Strong knowledge of estimating, capital management and financial processes.
Broad knowledge of Pharma and Biotech across multiple project types and lines of business.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with proven leadership.
Strong Microsoft Excel, Word, presentation skills.

Responsibilities

Lead estimating effort for capital and expense projects with multi-discipline teams.
Prepare TIC estimates, including conceptual schedules and staffing plans.
Gather and validate estimate information from multiple groups.
Review trade partner estimates and manage reconciliation.
Lead estimate risk analysis sessions and contingencies.
Project cost trending and benchmarking support.
Support maintenance of cost database and estimation tools.
Mentor estimating group and coach project teams through FEL processes.
