Job summary

The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service is seeking an Engineering Equipment Operator to operate, maintain, and repair heavy equipment and facilities supporting excavation, grading, and infrastructure on refuges. You will plan work steps, promote safe practices, train others, and keep accurate equipment and maintenance records.

Requirements include U.S. citizenship, a valid Class A CDL within 12 months, background check, and pre-employment/drug testing.

  • Ability To Interpret Instructions, Specifications, etc. (related to mobile equipment operation)

Responsibilities

  • Moves equipment/materials safely and effectively around job sites.
  • Maintaining/repairing infrastructure (consistently completing tasks).
  • Performs maintenance on motor vehicles, heavy equipment, and small equipment.
  • Follows equipment manuals and maintenance instructions.
  • Performs maintenance/repair of buildings, fences, water control structures, etc.
