Job summary

A regional economic development organization in Colorado is looking for a candidate to support engineering tasks including preparing documentation and drawings for manufacturing processes. The ideal applicant will have a background in engineering or manufacturing, familiarity with AutoCAD and SAP, and a commitment to customer service. Responsibilities encompass clerical support and ensuring accuracy in production materials. Willingness to work occasional weekends may be required.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 1 year sales, customer service or data entry experience preferred.
• 2 years in a Manufacturing or Engineering environment preferred.
• Knowledge of SAP VC is beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Review existing product calculators and project instructions.
• Prepare drawings, BOM’s, and documentation for production.
• Inspect drawings and BOM’s for clarity and accuracy.
• Confirm and process replacement part orders.

Job description

• Review and determine basic specifications from existing product calculators and worksheets.
• Review project instructions and blueprints to ascertain specifications, procedures, and objectives.
• Perform all clerical and application tasks associated with the Engineering department. Use of existing software and electronic processes including, but not limited to SAP, Excel, Word, Access and Outlook.
• Prepare drawings, BOM’s, and necessary documentation to ensure smooth and accurate flow of product production. This requires working knowledge of SAP, Autodesk and Microsoft Office.
• As required, conduct DXF preparation or modification.
• Inspect BOM’s, Drawings and DXF files for clarity and correct erroneous drawings.
• Check dimensions of materials, components or assemblies for conformance.
• Evaluate designs by measuring drawing dimensions and comparing with original design specifications.
• Confirm and process replacement part orders to the extent of providing production with proper documentation.
• Process shop floor changes as required using the appropriate procedures to provide proper documentation to production.
• Performs other duties as required by the supervisor.
• Comply with all company policies and procedures as required.

EXPERIENCE:

• Prefer 1 year of sales, customer service and/or data entry experience.
• Prefer 2 years of experience in a Manufacturing and or Engineering environment.
• SAP VC (Variant Configuration) knowledge beneficial. Some required qualifications are not required if SAP VC knowledge is possessed.
