Job summary

MKS Instruments is seeking a Senior Director of Engineering for the Flow Business Unit in the United States. You will lead and develop engineering groups, collaborating across Operations, Quality, Product Marketing, Sales and Customers to advance next-generation gas delivery and flow control technologies.

You will oversee multi-disciplinary teams, manage budgets, mentor engineering managers, and drive technology roadmaps and reliability initiatives to achieve strategic growth and customer

Qualifications

• 15+ years of cross-functional management experience in a product development environment.
• Strong understanding of manufacturing, gas flow, pressure control, and electrical engineering principles.
• Familiarity with Engineering management, project management, product development processes, problem-solving methodologies, and DFMEA, plus Reliability processes.
• Knowledge of industry trends, best practices, and change management.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily workflow and management of the mechanical and electronics engineering development team, including budget administration.
• Direct engineering management in design, modification, and evaluation through release/production with proper resource and budget alignment.
• Act as the central engineering resource collaborating with Product Marketing, project management, Operations, Quality and Reliability, Sales, and Service.
• Formulate and execute value engineering activities and long-term cost-control plans.
