Job summary

Nox Metals in Los Angeles is seeking a Director of Engineering to build the software organization and the systems that run the company. You will own technical direction, engineering execution, and team development across customer software, internal operations, data, infrastructure, and applied machine learning.

This is a hands-on leadership role where you will make architecture and hiring decisions, stay close to code and the factory floor, and drive speed, reliability, and measurable

Qualifications

• Set the technical strategy and engineering roadmap for the company.
• Recruit, develop, and lead a high-performing engineering team.
• Establish a durable architecture across customer, commercial, and manufacturing systems.
• Stay close enough to the code to review critical designs and unblock difficult work.
• Turn company priorities into clear technical plans, owners, and delivery dates.
• Raise reliability, security, testing, observability, and documentation.

Responsibilities

• Measure whether engineering work improves customer experience and factory performance.
• Build an engineering culture that values speed, judgment, ownership, and direct user contact.
• Make thoughtful build-versus-buy decisions and manage technical risk.
• Work directly with sales, operations, finance, and manufacturing to understand real workflows.
