Job summary

Neon Aero in Los Angeles, CA, seeks a Director of Electrical Engineering to lead development of complex electrical and electronic systems across our electromechanical products. You will build and lead the Electrical Engineering organization, partner with the VP of Engineering, review architectures, diagnose issues, and drive production through prototype to field deployment.

Aerospace experience not required; production-ready hardware is the emphasis.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical/Computer Engineering or related field.
• 12+ years of progressive experience developing complex electrical/electronic products.
• 5+ years leading Electrical/Hardware teams.
• Proven track record shipping multiple hardware products from concept to production.
• Broad technical knowledge across electrical domains; system architecture expertise.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills; able to mentor senior engineers.
• U.S. Persons Status required.

Responsibilities

• Lead the Electrical Engineering organization across architecture, development, validation, industrialization, production release and sustaining support.
• Build and develop a team of engineers across electronics, power systems, embedded hardware.
• Shape architectures spanning power electronics, embedded digital hardware, analog and mixed-signal electronics.
• Influence product decisions across electrical, mechanical, embedded software, controls, and manufacturing.
• Work with suppliers and contract manufacturers through prototype builds and production ramp.
• Ensure manufacturability and repeatable quality through DFM/DFT practices.
• Remain technically engaged in architecture reviews and major engineering decisions.
