You will mentor managers, recruit top engineers, and shape a high-performing culture while hands-on when needed. The position offers market-competitive salary and equity in a collaborative environment.

Qualifications

• 5+ years experience leading engineering teams on complex, data-intensive, or AI-driven products.
• Proven ability to design abstractions that accelerate an evolving product vision.
• Curiosity about state-of-the-art AI agent behavior and context systems.
• Track record as a people manager, with experience growing managers and teams.
• Playbook for building high-performing teams, with clear standards and hiring processes.
• Hands-on leader when necessary to move key initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Lead an organization of multiple teams working on Hex’s context platform.
• Serve as people manager for line-level engineering managers, tech leads, and senior ICs.
• Recruit exceptional engineering talent, growing to a team of at least 15 engineers.
• Drive technical strategy, review designs, and stay hands-on to move the needle.
