Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering and four years of related experience, including two years in a management role.
• Arkansas Professional Engineer Registration within six months of hire.
• Effectively communicate with others orally and in writing.
• Proficient in computer use and standard office software.
• Ability to apply advanced calculus, modern algebra, and statistics.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
• Ability to travel to job sites and operate in variable conditions.

Responsibilities

• Provide supervisory responsibilities including interviewing, hiring, and training staff; direct work and appraise performance.
• Administer the engineering development review process.
• Oversee development and maintenance of City construction standards.
• Review plans for site plans and subdivision submittals for conformance.
• Attend Planning Commission meetings and coordinate with departments and agencies.
• Investigate citizen complaints regarding municipal facilities and support improvements.
• Assist engineers, contractors, and agencies with design criteria and standards for public works.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
