Job summary

Daikin Applied Americas Inc is seeking a Designer II to create engineering documentation and production drawings using Solidworks and DraftSight. You will translate marketing intent into manufacturing docs and support weekly production schedules.

The role requires 2+ years in design, a technical degree, and familiarity with sheet metal and HVAC products. On-site in Staunton, VA with 10–15% travel. Excellent collaboration with cross-functional teams is expected.

Qualifications

• Vocational or Technical Degree in Design/Drafting or Equivalent Experience or Associates Degree in Design/Drafting.
• 2+ years of experience of related design work.
• Understanding of AMSE Y14.5 Desing and drafting standards.
• Advanced understanding of sheet metal design and/or HVAC products.
• Solidworks electrical (Optional Skill).

Responsibilities

• Create engineering documentation, including Solidworks, modeling, fabrication, and purchase drawings that conform to Daikin standards.

• Exhibit a sense of design and mechanical aptitude with abstract thinking and reasoning skills.

• Be part of and function in a team environment including cross functional and inter-departmental teams.
• Demonstrate an understanding of legacy bill of material systems and product structuring logic.

Join the world's largest HVAC company! Designer II’s will use computer-based tools to design parts and assemblies, create production drawings, and manage a parts list. Designer II’s will also originate, develop, or modify product designs from conception to finished manufacturing documentation assuring quality, manufacturability, functionality, serviceability, and cost has been considered.

The typical hourly rate for this position ranges from $28.61 - $47.04 USD per hour in VA. The range displayedrepresentsthe pay range for all positions in the job grade in which this position falls. Individual base pay will depend on a wide range of factors, including your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
