Job summary

Mark Thomas is seeking an experienced Engineering Design Technician for the Structures team. The role involves creating drawings, preparing proposal graphics, and providing drafting support under the supervision of licensed civil engineers.

You will ensure plans reflect project requirements, coordinate with managers, and deliver final documents on time and within budget. Strong communication and teamwork are essential in this hybrid/remote capable environment.

Qualifications

• 2 years of college or AAS degree in engineering or engineering technology preferred
• 3-5+ years of relevant experience
• Knowledge of Caltrans standards for bridge and retaining wall design strongly preferred
• Working knowledge of MS Office and AutoCAD, Micro-station experience preferred
• Demonstrated effective written and verbal skills
• Ability to prioritize and organize assigned tasks in a timely manner
• Ability to work & collaborate in a team environment
• Ability to develop and maintain professional relationships with a variety of unique and diverse people and personalities

Responsibilities

• Conforms project plan sheets to Company standards
• Ensures that engineering and field notes and other details are incorporated into plans, drawings and other engineering documents as required by the project manager
• Completes final project deliverables on time and within budgets
• Prepares proposal exhibits that are clear and concise, and are suitable for review by clients, potential clients, and the public
• Communicates appropriately to project managers and supervisor regarding ny conflicts or problems related to the quality or schedule for deliverables
• Prepares assignments to meet quality standards/ expectations of the client (external & internal)
• of way exhibits, utility plans, change order plans and as-built drawings
• Supports the preparation of design details, specifications and estimates
• Maintains consistent flow of communication with the project team and project manager regarding project status
• Conveys technical information utilizing clear verbal and written skills
• Demonstrates understanding of Company drafting and file naming standards
• Demonstrates a dedication to the organization and industry through participation in training activities and actively seeking opportunities to contribute to the achievement of Company goals

Mark Thomas is hiring an experienced Engineering Design Technician for the Structures team! The role of the Engineering Design Technician is to perform assigned duties such as creating drawings, preparing proposal or report graphics and providing general drafting support. The Engineering Design Technician is expected to work in a timely manner producing drawing and engineering details &documents with projects scopes and schedules. The position takes direction from licensed civil engineers.
