California Lutheran University in Thousand Oaks seeks a dynamic faculty member to serve as department chair of engineering at the associate or full professor level, on a tenure-track basis. Under the dean’s direction, the chair will lead a new B.S.

degree program in engineering, pursue ABET accreditation, and build industry connections within the region. The role requires teaching undergraduate courses, student mentorship, and active scholarship.

Formación

• Possession of a Ph.D. in Engineering and a strong record of teaching, scholarship, and service commensurate with associate or full professor appointment.

Responsabilidades

• Fulfill a 24-unit faculty workload including teaching and release time for program development.
• Teach undergraduate engineering courses, including general and advanced courses in chosen areas.
• Advise students and participate in department, division, and university committees.
• Maintain an active undergraduate research program with student involvement.
• Develop and manage ABET-related accreditation efforts and program administration.
• Collaborate with industry partners to enhance program reputation and opportunities for students.
• Attend meetings, recruit faculty, and oversee budgeting and curriculum quality.
