Job description

Louisiana Tech University seeks an Academic Director in its College of Engineering and Science (COES). The director will oversee one or more engineering academic units, typically 15–25 faculty members, and will provide administrative leadership, faculty oversight, and strategic vision for these programs.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage one or more engineering academic programs, providing faculty and staff oversight.
• Participate in the COES leadership team and support the college’s mission and values.
• Support and maintain ABET accreditation across administered programs.
• Provide vision and leadership to advance academics, research, and scholarship.
• Facilitate faculty engagement in external funding and collaborative research opportunities.
• Engage in active research and collaborate with other faculty within COES and across the university.
• Promote an inclusive environment for faculty and students.

Qualifications

• Earned a Doctorate in Engineering or a closely related field.
• Qualified for appointment as a tenured associate or full professor.
• Experience and vision for leading engineering programs and maintaining accreditation.
• Preference for candidates with background in Civil, Construction, or Industrial Engineering, though all engineering areas are considered.
• Strong record of research, teaching, and scholarly activity.
