Job summary

University of Wisconsin–Madison is seeking an Institutional Policy Analyst I to join the Institutional Research & Decision Support (IRDS) team. The role focuses on supporting the College of Engineering with tables, reports, Tableau workbooks, survey analysis, and ad-hoc requests.

The analyst will apply policy knowledge, data governance, and contextual insight to deliver actionable analyses, train users, and present findings to stakeholders across campus.

Qualifications

• 3+ years in data and analysis roles.
• Proficient with SQL and large datasets.
• Experience applying data to policy development or program evaluation.
• Strong statistical knowledge and modeling concepts.
• Ability to learn new software quickly.
• Excellent attention to detail and project management.
• Proficient with MS Office, incl. Excel PivotTables and PowerPoint.

Responsibilities

• Serves as liaison for institutional reporting and data requests.
• Develops guidelines to ensure data quality and reliability.
• Provides analysis and consultation on administrative matters.
• Designs and analyzes institutional data per procedures.
• Prepares statistical reports for programs and leadership.
