Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field.
  • 13 years of experience in a specific technical engineering discipline.
  • 15 years of broad engineering experience across multiple disciplines with a bachelor’s.
  • Ability to independently lead complex engineering projects and make high-impact technical decisions.
  • Advanced technical expertise and ability to apply engineering principles to challenging problems.
  • Strong judgment, problem-solving capabilities, and the ability to operate effectively with limited direction.

What You’ll Do

As an Engineering Contractor, you will work with a high degree of independence and technical authority. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Take responsibility for major engineering projects of significant complexity within established scope.
  • Make technical decisions and recommendations that have a substantial impact on broader engineering activities.
  • Apply advanced engineering principles, theories, and concepts using extensive expertise or specialized technical knowledge.
  • Lead the development of innovative engineering principles, ideas, and solutions.
  • Identify and implement improved methods and procedures to optimize technical performance, product quality, cost, and schedule requirements.
  • Exercise independent judgment while working under consultative direction to achieve project and program objectives.
  • Develop engineering standards, methodologies, and technical guides for diverse activities.
  • Conceive, plan, and lead investigations into critical engineering areas where established precedents may be limited or nonexistent.
  • Collaborate across technical disciplines to solve challenging engineering problems.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned in support of program and organizational objectives.
Required Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you should have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related curriculum applicable to the position, or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to perform the essential functions of the role.
  • 13 years of experience within a specific technical engineering discipline, or
  • 15 years of broad engineering experience across multiple technical disciplines with a bachelor’s degree.
  • Demonstrated ability to independently lead complex engineering projects and make high-impact technical decisions.
  • Advanced technical expertise and the ability to apply engineering principles to challenging or unprecedented problems.
  • Strong judgment, problem-solving capabilities, and the ability to operate effectively with limited direction.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master’s degree or PhD in Engineering or a related discipline.
  • Advanced or specialized expertise applicable to the engineering discipline and program.
  • Experience developing innovative solutions, engineering standards, processes, or technical methodologies.
  • Proven experience influencing technical direction on large-scale, complex engineering programs.

Advanced Degree Experience Credit: Relevant advanced degrees may receive experience credit of up to 2 years for a master’s degree and 4 years for a PhD, when applicable to the position.

Pay Details: $80.52 per hour
