Job summary

Intact Insurance Specialty Solutions is seeking an Engineering Consultant to join the Surety Claims team. The role supports US claim handling, guides contractors and coordinates project scopes on complex construction programs across multiple offices.

The candidate will manage end-to-end projects, advise on technical and contractual requirements, and travel as needed. A bachelor’s degree in engineering and strong communication skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering.
• Minimum of 7 years of experience in an engineering consulting firm or relevant experience in construction.
• Communication skills (written and verbal).
• Desire and ability to work in a team and in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to manage priorities, autonomous, and adapt to changing context.

Responsibilities

• Advise and support the claims handler on surety claim files.
• Prepare proposals, scopes of work, and cost estimates.
• Monitor project progress, invoicing, and close-out activities, and recommend corrective actions as needed.
• Support claim handlers in overseeing contractors or subcontractors on construction projects to ensure delivery on time and within budget.
• Travel will be required.
