Job summary

HARTING Americas, a subsidiary of HARTING Technology Group, seeks an Engineering Compliance Manager to own and drive international compliance activities across products and solutions. You will lead an international team, manage projects, and ensure risk-based compliance with UL/CSA/CE standards.

You will interface with regulatory agencies, certify new products, and develop programs while maintaining documentation and timelines. A hybrid policy and competitive compensation accompany the role.

Qualifications

  • BS in Electrical, Computer, Mechanical Engineering or similar field.
  • 3+ years experience of Project Management.
  • 3+ years experience of People Management responsibilities, ideally international.
  • 5+ years UL regulatory compliance experience.
  • Knowledge of UL, CSA, CE requirements and processes.
  • Knowledge of DNV, ATEX and BIS requirements and processes preferred.
  • Experience certifying new products.
  • Experience interacting with customers, regulatory agencies, test labs, etc.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Microsoft 365 program suite proficiency.
  • Knowledge of UL1977, UL2875, UL1682, UL508, UL817 a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and motivate an international compliance team across regions.
  • Balance project work and leadership duties (50% projects / 50% leadership).
  • Develop and execute compliance programs and documentation.
  • Liaise with regulatory agencies to facilitate projects and address questions.
  • Assess new product constructions for compliance risk.
  • Interface with regulators to determine applicable standards.
  • Develop expertise on applicable regulatory standards and codes.
  • Plan timetables, costs and resources for compliance programs.
  • Document compliance via approvals, test results and Declarations of Conformity.

We are looking for an Engineering Compliance Manager to join our growing Product Development department. The primary responsibility is to own and drive international compliance activities on a wide-variety of HARTING related products and solutions. The Engineering Compliance Manager will work with the design, development, and innovation teams to understand the appropriate standards and requirements as well as perform risk analysis on proposed designs and drive the submittal process to the appropriate regulatory body.

HARTING aims to be a trusted advisor to HARTING customers and positions itself as the go-to source expert for industrial connectivity solutions. We partner directly with Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) and Distribution partners for standard product, designed-in value-added products, and Product Development initiatives.

To succeed in this role, you will be highly driven to:
  • Manage and motivate an international compliance team (covering Americas, Europe, India and APAC) ensuring effective collaboration and high performance
  • Manage and deliver compliance projects, balancing project work and leadership responsibilities (50% Projects / 50% Leadership)
  • Manage product and engineering compliance by developing and executing compliance programs and completing documentation.
  • Oversee Interactions with regulatory agencies to facilitate projects, track changes, address compliance questions and issues.
  • Analyze and evaluate new product constructions for compliance risks within the appropriate standard(s).
  • Be responsible for interfacing with regulatory agencies to understand what standards apply to what products.
  • Research, identify, and develop expertise on applicable regulatory and industry compliance standards and codes.
  • Manage compliance programs by preparing timetables, cost estimates, and required resources, including test laboratories and equipment.
  • Document compliance by completing approval applications, recording test results, preparing investigative reports, preparing and filing Declarations of Conformity, and maintaining compliance database.
  • Update job knowledge by tracking and understanding emerging compliance engineering practices and standards, participating in educational opportunities and professional organizations, reading professional publications, and maintaining personal networks.
  • Manage other duties and ad hoc projects as customer requirements dictate some of the day-to-day activities of this role and the team.
Skills And Experience To Thrive In This Role

HARTING Americas offers an attractive total compensation package and employee benefits, including:
Compensation
  • HARTING's Total Compensation Structure includes a Base Salary and Bonus Percentage.
  • Competitive base salary: $130,000 - $150,000 (commensurate with experience, subject to change dependent on physical location).
  • This role is eligible for a 10% discretionary annual bonus.
