Job summary

Rust-Oleum is seeking an Engineering Co-Op for the Summer/Fall 2027 session in Wisconsin. The role runs Monday–Friday, 8:00am–4:30pm, 40 hours per week, with pay at $25.00/hour.

You'll work on real manufacturing projects, gaining exposure to Lean manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives, including 5S, SMED, and root-cause problem solving. Housing is provided at UW Parkside.

Qualifications

• Engineering or related field student
• Strong interest in manufacturing processes and continuous improvement
• Willingness to learn Lean/Six Sigma principles

Responsibilities

• Support engineering projects in manufacturing operations.
• Assist with new equipment implementation and process improvements.
• Analyze current processes to identify efficiency and safety gains.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams on project tasks.

What to expect:

• To confirm if you want to become an Operations Engineer.You'll be tasked with real company projects that will help you understand the role and responsibilities of working in manufacturing.From incorporating new machines to maximizing efficiencies into our process, you'll impact bottom-line company results.
• In depth training on the Rust-Oleum Continuous Improvement and Lean Manufacturing Initiatives including Toyota Production System training- 5S, 8 Wastes, Quick Changeover (SMED) & Root Cause Problem Solving
• Specific projects in our processing, milling, and paint making operations.Projects to include equipment & process changes to improve efficiency, throughput, and safety.
• Additional projects may include Lean & Six Sigma activities or efficiency & safety projects for the packaging production area.
