Rust-Oleum in Hagerstown, MD is seeking an Engineering Co-Op for the Spring/Summer session from January 2027 to August 2027. Schedule is Mon-Fri, 8:00am–4:30pm, full-time (40 hrs/wk) with pay at $25.00/hr; housing is included at Valley Loft Apartments in Hagerstown, MD.

This role offers hands-on projects in processing, milling, and paint making, plus training on continuous improvement and lean manufacturing initiatives, including Toyota Production System elements and root-cause problem solving.

Responsibilities

• In-depth training on CI and Lean initiatives including Toyota Production System concepts (5S, 8 Wastes, SMED) and root cause solving
• Projects in processing, milling, and paint operations to improve efficiency, throughput and safety
• Lean & Six Sigma activities or packaging production efficiency projects may be included

Job Title: Engineering Co-Op

• To confirm if you want to become an Operations Engineer.You'll be tasked with real company projects that will help you understand the role and responsibilities of working in manufacturing.From incorporating new machines to maximizing efficiencies into our process, you'll impact bottom-line company results.
• In depth training on the Rust-Oleum Continuous Improvement and Lean Manufacturing Initiatives including Toyota Production System training- 5S, 8 Wastes, Quick Changeover (SMED) & Root Cause Problem Solving
• Specific projects in our processing, milling, and paint making operations.Projects to include equipment & process changes to improve efficiency, throughput, and safety.
• Additional projects may include Lean & Six Sigma activities or efficiency & safety projects for the packaging production area.
