Job summary

Tenneco's NVH Engineering Department is seeking an Engineering Assistant to support design investigations and the engineering prototype sales order process. You will assist with daily engineering tasks and collaborate with lab technicians and engineers to drive new product designs and applications.

This internship/ co-op role provides exposure to DFMEA/DVP&R, testing, and benchmarking, with opportunities to learn materials selection, molding, and tooling development while contributing to quality

Qualifications

• Pursuing BS in Engineering.
• Has successfully completed satisfactory progress towards degree.
• Ability to communicate and work well with all levels of the organization.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

• Write and follow up on assigned customer prototype sales orders, and assist in materials selection, molding, assembly and testing.
• Develop tests, DFMEA’s and DVP&R’s, evaluate assemblies, summarize data and perform calculations.
• Observe and assist lab technicians in all departments as necessary.
• Assist engineers on daily engineering tasks for new product designs and applications; evaluate improvements, processes and competitors as needed.
• Assist lab personnel in developing test fixturing, assembly tooling and molding samples.
• Support / assist in benchmarking activities.
• Adhere to all company policies including the quality management system, BOS and environmental health and safety.
