Job summary

Dana Corporation is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer Co-Op for its Toledo, Ohio plant. This role supports the Engineering Team by helping implement new manufacturing processes and driving continuous improvement.

You will assist line trials, troubleshoot equipment, and collaborate with maintenance and process engineers to support product changes and program launches. Working toward an Engineering degree, you will gain hands-on experience in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• Strong technical/troubleshooting ability with attention to detail.
• Experience with automation equipment is a plus.
• Must be working toward an Engineering degree.

Responsibilities

• Assist Engineering with line trials and data evaluation.
• Troubleshoots assembly equipment and related faults to reduce line downtime.
• Identify and fulfill engineering improvement projects related to downtime, cycle time, and quality concerns.
• Collaborate with maintenance and engineering to facilitate equipment repairs.
• Assist Process Engineers with testing and development of new tooling for product changes and launches.
• Interpret blueprints and specifications for components, assemblies, and tooling.
• Follow change management procedures including updating Work Instructions, PFMEA, and Control Plans.

Description / Requirements

Dana Corporation is seeking to fill the position of Manufacturing Engineer Co OP in our Toledo, Ohio plant. This position will be responsible for providing support to the Engineering Team. This includes the implementation of new manufacturing processes and continuous improvement of current processes.

Education and Qualifications

Responsibilities:

• Assist Engineering with line trials, and the evaluation of the data.
• Troubleshoots assembly equipment, and component related faults and issues to reduce line downtime.
• Identify and fulfill engineering improvement projects associated with reoccurring equipment downtime, station cycle time improvements, assembly first time through issues, and both proactive and reactive quality and safety concerns.
• Works in conjunction with maintenance and engineering to facilitate equipment/machine repairs.
• Assist Process Engineers with testing and development of new tooling to support product changes and program launches.
• Interpret blueprints and specifications - Components, Assemblies, Tooling.
• Follows change management procedure for process changes including updating and implementation of required documentation such as Work Instructions, PFMEA, and Control Plan alongside the respective process engineer.
• Performs all other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

• Strong technical/troubleshooting ability and attention to detail. Experience with automation equipment and processes is a plus.
• Additional formal education in technical field will be encouraged to expand capabilities and to prepare for future opportunities within organization.
• Must be working toward an Engineering degree.
