Job summary

Freudenberg Group in Plymouth, MI is seeking a student intern in mechanical, chemical, or materials engineering. You will work year-round while balancing class schedules and gain hands-on experience with mechanical equipment, testing processes, and data documentation.

On-site in Plymouth, MI, this internship supports our engineering team with opportunities for practical learning, collaboration, and involvement in corporate events and sustainability initiatives.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in a bachelor’s degree program in mechanical, chemical, materials, or a related engineering field.
• Ability to work year-round while balancing a flexible schedule with class schedules.
• Must have completed at least the sophomore year of the degree program.
• Hands-on experience working with mechanical equipment, tools, or testing processes.
• Ability to analyze and interpret technical data and communicate findings clearly.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, with strong technical writing and documentation skills.
• Ability to work independently, collaborate effectively, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Assist with mechanical testing and data collection.
• Support cross-functional teams with documentation and reporting.
• Contribute to technical reviews and data analysis.
• Help maintain lab equipment and organize test results.
