Job summary

Performance Health is seeking an Engineer Co-Op to join our Manufacturing team in Akron, OH. The Co-Op will work on quality and process design improvements for our products, with a Spring 2027 full-time schedule (40 hours per week) and potential extension into summer 2027.

Ideal candidates are enrolled full-time in an accredited engineering program with a 3.0/4.0 GPA or higher and a major in an engineering discipline. Strong communication skills and proficiency with analysis tools are required.

  • GPA 3.0/4.0 or higher.
  • Major in Engineering (Chemical; Mechanical; Polymer Science; Biomedical; Mechanical Eng. Tech).
  • Proficiency with analysis/reporting tools.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in validation updates.
  • Assist extrusion and automation projects.
  • Maintain engineering records for registrations.
  • Assist investigations of customer complaints.
  • Calibrate, troubleshoot, and maintain equipment.
  • Work from engineering drawings and instructions.
  • Contribute to waste reduction and cost savings.
  • Ensure compliance with quality and regulatory standards.

Job description

Performance Health is seeking an Engineer Co-Op to join our Manufacturing team in Akron, OH. The Engineering Co-Op will work on projects related to the quality and process design improvements of our products.

The duration of this Co-Op is Spring 2027 working full time, 40 hours per week with opportunity for extension through summer 2027.

Essential Job Duties & Responsibilities
  • Assist in validation updates
  • Assist in Extrusion and Automation projects
  • Update product engineering records to include proper documentation for registrations
  • Participates in and assists with the coordination of elements of investigations regarding customer complaints.
  • Construct, troubleshoot, calibrate, adjust, test, and maintain equipment, components, devices, or systems.
  • Work from engineering drawings and written or verbal instructions.
  • Perform calibration and alignment checks; make adjustments, modifications, and replacements as directed.
  • Manufacturing projects to eliminate waste and deliver cost savings
  • Quality and Regulatory projects to ensure process and products are in compliance with customer, internal, and governmental standards
  • Performs other duties as assigned
Job Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Enrolled full-time and pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree from an accredited college/university
  • Major in an Engineering discipline (Chemical; Mechanical; Polymer Science; Biomedical; Mechanical Engineering Technology)
  • Overall cumulative GPA of 3.0/4.0 or higher
  • Proficiency with analysis/reporting tools
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
