Performance Health seeks an Engineer Co-Op to join our Manufacturing team in Akron, OH. The Co-Op will support quality and process design improvements across products, with a Spring 2027 start and 40 hours per week.

Opportunity for extension through Summer 2027. Responsibilities include assisting validation updates, extrusion and automation projects, updating engineering records, and participating in investigations of customer complaints.

Qualifications

  • Pursuing an engineering degree at an accredited college/university (full-time).
  • Overall GPA 3.0/4.0 or higher.
  • Enrolled full-time and pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree in Engineering.
  • Proficiency with analysis/reporting tools and strong communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in validation updates.
  • Assist in extrusion and automation projects.
  • Update product engineering records with proper registrations documentation.
  • Participate in investigations of customer complaints.
  • Construct, troubleshoot, calibrate, adjust, test, and maintain equipment and systems.
  • Work from engineering drawings and written/verbal instructions.
  • Perform calibration and alignment checks and make adjustments as directed.
  • Support manufacturing projects to reduce waste and deliver cost savings.
  • Contribute to quality and regulatory initiatives to ensure compliance.

Job description

Performance Health is seeking an Engineer Co-Op to join our Manufacturing team in Akron, OH. The Engineering Co-Op will work on projects related to the quality and process design improvements of our products. The duration of this Co-Op is Spring 2027 working full time, 40 hours per week with opportunity for extension through summer 2027.

Essential Job Duties & Responsibilities
  • Assist in validation updates
  • Assist in Extrusion and Automation projects
  • Update product engineering records to include proper documentation for registrations
  • Participates in and assists with the coordination of elements of investigations regarding customer complaints
  • Construct, troubleshoot, calibrate, adjust, test, and maintain equipment, components, devices, or systems
  • Work from engineering drawings and written or verbal instructions
  • Perform calibration and alignment checks; make adjustments, modifications, and replacements as directed
  • Manufacturing projects to eliminate waste and deliver cost savings
  • Quality and Regulatory projects to ensure process and products are in compliance with customer, internal, and governmental standards
  • Performs other duties as assigned
Job Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Enrolled full-time and pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree from an accredited college/university
  • Major in an Engineering discipline (Chemical; Mechanical; Polymer Science; Biomedical; Mechanical Engineering Technology)
  • Overall cumulative GPA of 3.0/4.0 or higher
  • Proficiency with analysis/reporting tools
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
