Job summary

The University of Alabama at Birmingham invites applications for the role of Assistant Director Engineering Career Center. This position provides career advising to School of Engineering students and alumni, develops internship readiness workshops, and coordinates recruitment events.

The successful candidate will supervise peer mentors, collaborate with faculty, and manage relationships with internship/co-op partners to expand opportunities for students.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related field and 3 years of related experience required.
• Work experience may NOT substitute for education requirement.

Responsibilities

• Provide career advising to School of Engineering students and alumni.
• Develop and present internship readiness workshops and recruitment programming.
• Track engineering student participation in internships/co-ops and internship readiness workshops.
• Communicate with engineering students about career advising resources, upcoming career-related events, and job postings.
• Advocate for engineering student intern/co-op placements and distribute candidate information to recruitment partners.
