Job summary

IMI plc is seeking an Engineering Associate (Temporary) to support new customer applications and sustain current product designs. This role involves creating design proposals, sketches, and drawings for internal and customer approval and testing prototypes, with updates to legacy designs to meet new standards.

Based onsite in Rockford, IL, you will gain exposure to engineering in a machine shop environment, collaborate with manufacturing, quality, and supply chain, and help ensure designs meet

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Bachelors Degree in Engineering
• Experience with fluid power products desired
• Experience in design and testing
• Experince with CAD software desired

Responsibilities

• Execute changes in product designs to meet customer requirements, including executing solid modeling in Solidworks and Autodesk, executing engineering drawing changes, and making necessary updates in Bills of Material and manufacturing work instructions.
• Gain exposure to engineering in a machine shop environment.
• Review opportunities to improve design for manufacturing of machined & assembled components.
• Cooperate with teammembers in manufacturing engineering, quoting, operations, supply chain, & quality to ensure designs are successfully implemented.
• Receive, evaluate, prioritize, and process all opportunities for engineering projects. Complete them in the requested time and document all correspondence.
• Participate in and promote process improvements within assigned areas.
• Ensure customer needs are met through product prototype testing.
• Ensures design meet reliability and process capability criteria.
• Other duties as assigned.
