Job summary

Star-Island-Management-Corp is seeking an Engineering Supervisor to oversee the resort's engineering operations and support the leadership in managing the department and vendor activities. Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Perform safety inspections and ensure OSHA and safety regulations are followed.
  • Ensure compliance with internal, quality, and audit standards.
  • Assist director of engineering with budgeting and P&L reporting.
  • Develop relationships with vendors and contractors for projects.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement and cost control.

Job DescriptionUnder the direction of the Director of Engineering, supervises and serves as a supporting role planning, organization, and direction for the engineering department the most efficient and effective manner possible, while maintaining the company’s expected high quality standards. Oversee daily operations of the engineering department; provide supervision and direction of Engineering Technicians; perform safety inspections; maintain Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) and all safety regulations.Essential Job Functions Responsible for overseeing the engineering operation of the resort: Assist the engineering leadership with management of the engineering department and vendor operations. Ensures assigned area of responsibility meets all company and compliance standards. Provide direction and supervision to the Engineering Technicians for daily operations of the engineering department. Demonstrate and apply broad knowledge of concepts, practices, and procedures for managed work group(s) and how it supports related operations. Ensure the engineering department meets all Internal, Quality, and Loss Prevention Audit standards. Create a positive and engaging work environment. Embrace and exhibit the highest level of ethics and integrity consistent with company standards. Demonstrate an ability to motivate and communicate expectations with humility and respect. Provide input to director of engineering with financials; assist with management of monthly engineering budget and monthly P&L reports. Build strong working vendor/contractor relationships and knowledge of HOA. Develop professional relationships with vendors and contractors for resort and capital projects. Request and receive bids for presentation to resort management. Support and implement resort management strategic initiatives and programs. Identify areas of process improvement and leverage best practices by working with appropriate departments and colleagues as necessary. Perform other duties as needed.Education: High school diploma or equivalent. Experience with all maintenance trades required. Certificates or Licenses: HVAC, Valid Driver’s License with a clean motor vehicle record. Knowledge of all maintenance trades including electrical, plumbing, as well as the related use of hand and power tools. Skills in the use of related tools including hand and power tools. Mathematical skills necessary to perform job duties. Ability to bend, stoop, kneel, and push and pull objects weighing up to 100 pounds, carry objects up to 50 pounds. Ability to walk around a large resort for the majority of the work period. Ability to climb ladders and work at height up to 30 feet for extended periods. Ability to memorize and perform Resort Standards.
