You’ll work under the guidance of a registered professional engineer and lead consultant teams in solving real transportation engineering challenges—from developing design study reports and roadway geometrics to preparing drainage and accident analyses, cost estimates, and other essential project documents.

You’ll take on a Senior Engineer role, guiding consultants in producing complete, bid-ready plans, specifications, and estimates for highway improvement projects.

You’ll serve as a first-level registered professional engineer, supporting an Engineering Manager by reviewing designs for compliance with federal and state requirements, coordinating professional service contracts, and helping deliver high-quality plan sets for both state-funded and federal-aid projects. In this role, you may also professionally seal engineering documents. This flex hiring structure allows motivated candidates to develop, contribute, and advance within a supportive and collaborative engineering environment

This position is based in Anchorage. The DOT&PF Central Region Headquarters building in located at 4111 Aviation Avenue. The office building is generally comprised of cubicle office space and organized by functional groups. Flexible work schedules and hybrid teleworking options are available.

: Uses efficient learning techniques to acquire and apply new knowledge and skills; uses training, feedback, or other opportunities for self-learning and development.
Valid Driver's License is preferred but not required.
If applying for the Engineer/Architect 1 level, a Professional Engineer license in the field of Civil Engineering is
mandatory

Engineer-in-training certification is preferred but not required.
