We are searching for an Engineered Lumber Estimator/Designer to become a member of a National Specification Team that is aligned within our dynamic Marketing and Sales organization. We support our vision by providing an array of proprietary software applications (Javelin, Forte, Estima) that allow our strategic partners to design, layout and perform material optimization for engineered lumber and other structural frame products that ensure their success as well as our own.

This role is a fully remote work-from-home position, provided you are currently based (or are planning to move to) one of the following states: Georgia, Florida, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, Texas and Virginia. This role is not open to those who live in other states or countries.

Background

Design associates efficiently provide accurate, value-added layout drawings, material lists, and design services to end users of Weyerhaeuser products. The primary role for this position is design and drafting, with a secondary emphasis on service coordination, as well as customer and market interaction.

Key Functions

As the Engineered Lumber Estimator/Designer, you will use design tools and software applications to provide a variety of technical services that support the design and specification of Weyerhaeuser Structural Frame products. You will produce comprehensive framing layouts for floor, roof and wall systems, as well as provide design calculations for single structural members. In addition, you will provide design consultation to dealers, builders, general contractors, building inspectors, architects and engineers, sales associates and owners in an effort to provide innovative solutions to framing challenges.

Minimum Qualifications:

• 2-year technical degree OR equivalent construction industry experience
• Excellent communication and customer service skills

Desired Qualifications:

• Ability to read and comprehend blueprints/construction documents
• Wood framing construction background
• Working knowledge of CAD and/or estimating applications
• Certification in structural/architectural drafting
• Statics, Mechanics, and Materials background

What we offer...

Compensation: This role is eligible for our annual merit-increase program, and we are targeting a salary range of $68,000 - $102,000 based on your level of skills, qualifications and experience. You will also be eligible for our Annual Incentive Program, which offers a cash bonus targeting 5% of base pay. Potential plan funding may range from zero to two times that target.

Retirement: Employees are able to enroll in our company’s 401k plan, which includes a paid company match in addition to our annual contribution equal to 5% of your base salary.

Paid Time Off or Vacation: We provide eligible employees who are scheduled to work 25 hours or more per week with 3-weeks of paid vacation to use during your first year of employment. In addition, after being employed for six months, eligible employees begin to accrue vacation for future use. We also recognize eleven paid holidays per year, providing a total of 88 holiday hours.
