Job summary

CenterPoint Energy, Inc. seeks a Strategic Sourcing Specialist for Engineered Equipment to execute defined category work and manage supplier relationships. You will handle RFQ/RFP packages, contract administration, and multi-round negotiations under procurement oversight.

The role focuses on transformers, switchgear, and related components with long lead times and capital projects, requiring analytical and collaborative skills in a fast-paced utility environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, Finance, or related field.
• 2–5 years of procurement, sourcing, or supply chain experience.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and SAP or equivalent ERP.
• Strong organizational and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop and manage RFQ/RFP packages for engineered equipment sub-categories.
• Lead supplier Q&A and bid clarification for sourcing events.
• Conduct bid evaluation with weighted scoring and total cost of ownership analysis.
• Draft award documentation for procurement decisions.
• Support multi-round negotiations and price-reduction requests.
• Maintain supplier relationships and monitor contract compliance.
• Track contract expirations and renewal triggers.
