We Are Looking For Someone Like You

As an Engineered Equipment Purchasing Agent, you will be responsible for purchasing HVAC, plumbing, and industrial engineered equipment for construction projects nationwide, especially in the St. Louis, Missouri, and Denver, Colorado markets. The position can be based in either location.

Your Day-to-Day At Murphy Company

1. Interface internally with estimators, project managers, designers, and engineers to obtain order requirements.
2. Solicit quotations and/or obtain bid time quotations from internal estimators.
3. Evaluate quotations to determine best value and compliance with project requirements.
4. Review construction drawings and technical specifications to assist estimators and project managers in determining project requirements for equipment.
5. Interface with vendors to negotiate and place orders.
6. Utilize our ERP system to issue purchase orders and approve invoices.
7. Obtain equipment submittals, coordinate the submittal routing process, and maintain documentation.
8. Track order status, expedite orders, and communicate order status with project staff.
9. Interact with vendors to resolve product failures and disputes.
10. Stay current with new product developments for engineered equipment in HVAC and Plumbing Industry.
11. Stay current with personnel changes at equipment suppliers.

Bring Your A-Game!

1. Bachelor of Science in Engineering or technical experience equivalent.
2. Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
3. Some HVAC/mechanical design, mechanical equipment construction, or engineered equipment sales experience is desired. Salary is commensurate with experience.
4. Willingness to negotiate.
5. Limited travel.
