The State of California, Division of Engineering, Construction Branch, Oroville Project Headquarters, is seeking a Water Resources Engineer to manage construction engineering activities for the Oroville/Thermalito complex. The role ensures contracts are completed on schedule and in accordance with project specifications.

Under direction of the Senior Engineer, Water Resources, the incumbent will perform construction engineering duties for the Construction Branch projects to ensure construction contracts for the Oroville/Thermalito complex are completed on schedule and in accordance with Division requirements and project specifications.

Must possess a valid California driver's license when conducting State business that requires driving a vehicle. May be required to travel on public roadways including traveling to remote areas.
Travel on short notice and overnight lodging will be required on some trips.
The position also requires that the incumbent be alert around the operation of construction equipment and be able to perform safely in and around construction sites.

In addition to evaluating each candidate's relative ability, as demonstrated by quality and breadth of experience, the following factors will provide the basis for competitively evaluating each candidate:
We are seeking individuals with relevant civil engineering/construction engineering and building work experience, especially on Water Conveyance Projects and with Construction Contracts. Work experience on construction projects related to the State Water Project is a plus. The ideal candidate will also have experience with Construction inspection duties. Strong written and verbal communication skills are preferred, as well as those who are able to take independent action and pay close attention to detail while being able to work in a team environment. Experience with Microsoft Office and Primavera Project Planner is a plus.
