Organization Overview

The Engineer – Warehouse is responsible for establishing and maintaining the reliable operation and qualified state of equipment/robotics systems in their support area. The engineer collaborates with project and cross-functional teams as a subject matter expert to meet safety, quality, and productivity goals. They ensure systems are in-control, compliant, and capable of meeting customer needs, supporting projects related to regulatory compliance, commercialization, capacity, and process improvement.

This role will focus on engineering delivery activities for multiple equipment/systems within the K116 project at Indianapolis Parenteral Manufacturing, enabling fully automated material movements. Post-project, the engineer will support warehouse operations during production.

Responsibilities
  1. Ensure a safe working environment by adhering to safety rules and promoting safety culture.
  2. Design and operate equipment safely within the area.
  3. Maintain process automation solutions/systems in-control, capable, and compliant.
  4. Lead or assist in Commissioning & Qualification (C&Q) and verification activities, including commissioning of new equipment or areas.
  5. Support development, deployment, and operation of material movement solutions for K115 and K116 projects.
  6. Collaborate with the Global Robotics Program team on system design and implementation.
  7. Communicate effectively with project teams, operations, maintenance, and crafts personnel.
  8. Assess impacts of changes to equipment/systems.
  9. Identify and improve equipment reliability issues.
  10. Drive equipment improvements and troubleshoot operational problems using formal problem-solving techniques like Root Cause Analysis.
  11. Engage with OEMs and service vendors to enhance knowledge and support projects and troubleshooting.
Basic Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in a science or engineering field; 1-2 years of experience preferred.
Additional Skills/Preferences
  • Cross-functional collaboration skills within manufacturing environments.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Knowledge of control system programming, robotics platforms, PLC, HMI, and MES systems.
  • Experience in pharmaceutical manufacturing, especially parenteral and packaging processes.
  • Experience with commissioning, validation, cGMP regulations.
  • Effective communication skills for diverse audiences.
  • Proficiency with operational tools and systems for operational excellence.
  • Ability to work on complex tasks with tight timelines.

  • 8-hour dayshift; extended hours during peak periods.
  • Willingness to respond to off-hour support needs.
  • Occasional travel for project activities, training, or conferences.
