HG Law LLP is seeking talented engineers to join its New York or San Jose office as Technical Advisors. In an apprenticeship-style role, you will work closely with patent attorneys to understand innovations and help clients protect their IP worldwide.

No prior legal training required, with an anticipated Summer 2027 start. In this position, you will confer with inventors, prepare patent applications, analyze technologies, and support IP enforcement efforts while working in-person at one of our

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in electrical engineering, computer engineering, applied physics, or a related technical field.
• Must be eligible to become a registered patent agent before the USPTO.
• Excellent academic record with strong written and verbal communication.
• Analytical mindset with problem-solving skills and fast learning ability.
• Willingness to work in person at NY or SJ office.
• Background in telecommunications, semiconductors, or circuit design is a plus.

Responsabilités

• Confer with inventors about protection strategies for their inventions.
• Prepare and prosecute patent applications.
• Analyze complex technologies and understand client inventions deeply.
• Assist clients to enforce IP rights against infringers.
• Defend clients from third-party challenges to patents.
• Conduct competitive landscape analyses.
