Job summary

Holder Construction is seeking an Engineer Technician in Training for our Operations team on a project in Moncks Corner, SC. This full-time role requires assisting field engineers with surveying tasks and maintaining equipment.

Ideal candidates have 6 months to 1 year of experience, can read construction drawings, and meet basic safety training requirements such as OSHA 10. The job involves outdoor work, overtime, and weekend hours.

Qualifications

• 6 months to 1 year of construction experience.
• Ability to read construction drawings and interpret plans.
• Training in construction safety protocols (OSHA 10, fall protection, MEWP) preferred.
• Able to lift 50–100 lbs and work on uneven surfaces and heights.

Responsibilities

• Assist Field Engineers in operating surveying instruments (robotic total station, auto level).
• Help establish building control, markings, elevations, grades, and alignments.
• Maintain survey equipment and tools in good working condition.
• Support field supervision and take ownership to complete daily tasks.

About the Role

We are looking for a Engineer Technician in Training to join our Operations team on our project in Moncks Corner, SC. This is a full-time position.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assisting Field Engineers in operating robotic total station instruments and auto level and other surveying instruments.
• Assisting with establishing building control, setting markers, lines, corners, elevations, grades, alignments, angles, positions, and distances.
• Maintain total station, field book, survey equipment and tools.
• Provide primary support to our field supervision and must demonstrate ownership of assigned tasks, maintain professionalism, and use critical thinking to solve issues and l ead team to complete daily tasks at jobsite.

Qualifications:

Required:

• Ideal candidates for this position willpossess6 mos. to 1 year of experience, able to read construction drawings and have training in construction safety protocols (i.e.OSHA 10, fall protection, mobile elevated platform,boomand scissor).
• Must be agile/mobile, remain alert, be able to stand or walk for long periods of time, use fingers, hands & arms to reach, handle and manipulate objects, climb up/down ladders, scaffolds, and other objects.
• Work on uneven surfaces/heights, be able to read/write, and can see & hear well either naturally or with correction.
• Must be able to lift and carry materials of all shapes and sizes weighing 50-100 lbs., 75% of the time.

Preferred:

• Individuals must be able to work in an OSHA compliant safety environment.
• Must be able to work outside.
• Must be able to work overtime and weekend hours.
• Punctuality and promptness are required every day.
