Job summary

GE HealthCare in Wisconsin is seeking a CT Systems Engineer to lead design and optimization of CT imaging and dose management features across product roadmaps.

  • Ability to pursue tasks to completion.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States full-time.
  • Must be willing to work in our Waukesha, WI facility full-time.

Responsibilities

  • Work with a broad cross-functional team.
  • Working across functions and team boundaries to implement and optimize system level image quality and dose management features for new products and technology roadmaps.
  • Use broad technical expertise and experience to evaluate and tune complex designs focusing on image quality, calibration and dose management.
  • Provide domain expertise to own/lead technical design reviews, investigation of risks, and innovative solutions for optimal system performance.
  • Develop methods to quantify subsystem interactions and their effects on system performance and image quality.
  • Develop requirements for key system performance parameters as they relate to image quality, safety, performance and calibration.
  • Drive system tradeoff discussions within new product developments by understanding system architecture and interfaces.
  • Investigate customer questions and complaints to provide technical answers and solutions.
  • Provide technical leadership for project execution.
  • Implement and teach engineering principles and standards.
  • Drive innovation for competitive differentiation.
  • Mentor junior engineers in area of expertise.

Job Description SummaryThe CT Systems Engineer works in close collaboration with a cross-functional team made up of engineers, scientists, product management, clinical applications, researchers, customers, marketing and other field teams to define and develop new product technologies to meet customer needs. The Systems Engineer position distinguishes itself through a high emphasis on implementing and evaluating new product innovations and a strong focus on image/signal quality, system safety, and system calibration to drive significant design improvements in product architecture.

Required Qualifications

Desired Characteristics

  • 2 years relevant industrial or academic experience
  • Strong understanding of X-ray physics, CT physics, CT imaging and image/signal processing fundamentals
  • Master’s Degree in Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Physics, Medical Physics, Applied Mathematics or a closely related field
  • Demonstrated record of innovation in technology development
  • Proficient in the use of software tools for analysis, modeling and simulations
  • Experience with CT specific device operation and troubleshooting issues
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Experience with research collaborations
  • Self-starter, energizing, results oriented, and able to multi-task
  • Demonstrated problem solving ability and results orientation
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a collaborative, matrixed, and customer focused environment
  • Excellent communication, influencing skills and ability to gain buy-in for initiatives
