Job summary

Wade Trim is seeking an Engineering Summer Intern for our Construction group in our Bay City office. You are pursuing a bachelor’s degree in civil, environmental, construction engineering or concrete technology and must have a valid driver’s license.

Familiarity with Microsoft Office and strong organizational/communication skills are expected. The intern will support project tasks, perform field inspections, assist with cost estimates, prepare reports, and help manage budgets and schedules under

Qualifications

• Pursuing a bachelor’s degree in civil, environmental, construction engineering or concrete technology.
• Sophomore or junior status preferred.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Office required.

Responsibilities

• Interpret project plans and specifications.
• Conduct field inspections and maintain work item quantities.
• Conduct field or laboratory material test.
• Maintain project files and record drawings.
• Prepare construction reports.
• Perform soil erosion control and sediment control inspections.
• Review technical data for adherence with project requirements.
• Assist with preliminary project cost estimates and evaluate quantities.
• Assist with/review scope, budget and schedule of new project tasks.
• Monitor task budget and progress.
• Prepare project status and other reports.
• Assist in the preparation of proposals.
• Assist Project Managers.
• Attend client, public, project and staff meetings including client progress, plan review, pre-construction, etc.
• Attend seminars and/or training classes.
• Maintain excellent client relations.
• Maintain a safe working environment.
