Job summary

Wade Trim is seeking an Engineering Summer Intern for our Construction group in our Atlanta office. You must be pursuing a bachelor’s degree in civil, environmental, construction engineering or concrete technology (sophomore or junior preferred) and hold a valid driver’s license; familiarity with Microsoft Office is required.

Responsibilities include interpreting project plans, conducting field inspections, preparing reports, and assisting with cost estimates and project scope.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in Civil, Environmental, Construction Engineering or Concrete Technology.
• Valid Driver’s License.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Office is required.

Responsibilities

• Interpret project plans and specifications
• Conduct field inspections and maintain work item quantities
• Conduct field or laboratory material test
• Maintain project files and record drawings
• Prepare construction reports
• Perform soil erosion control and sediment control inspections
• Review technical data for adherence with project requirements
• Assist with preliminary project cost estimates and evaluate quantities
• Assist with/review scope, budget and schedule of new project tasks
• Monitor task budget and progress
• Prepare project status and other reports
• Assist in the preparation of proposals
• Assist Project Managers
• Attend client, public, project and staff meetings including client progress, plan review, preconstruction, etc.
• Attend seminars and/or training classes
• Maintain excellent client relations
• Maintain a safe working environment
