Job summary

Wade Trim is seeking an Engineering Summer Intern for our Construction group in our Tampa office. Candidates must be pursuing a bachelor’s degree in civil, environmental, construction engineering or concrete technology and possess a valid driver’s license.

Familiarity with Microsoft Office is required. Typical responsibilities include interpreting project plans, conducting field inspections, maintaining quantities, preparing reports, and assisting with cost estimates and project scope, budget

• Pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in Civil, Environmental, Construction Engineering or Concrete Technology.
• Valid Driver’s License is required.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Office is required.

Responsibilities

• Interpret project plans and specifications.
• Conduct field inspections and maintain work item quantities.
• Conduct field or laboratory material test.
• Maintain project files and record drawings.
• Prepare construction reports.
• Assist with preliminary project cost estimates and evaluate quantities.
• Attend client, public, project and staff meetings including client progress, plan review, preconstruction, etc.

Position Description:

Wade Trim is seeking an Engineering Summer Intern for our Construction group in our Tampa office. Candidates must be pursuing a bachelor’s degree in civil, environmental, construction engineering or concrete technology (sophomore or junior status preferred) and possess valid driver’s license. Familiarity with Microsoft Office is required. Candidates must be self-motivated, very organized and have excellent communication skills.

Typical responsibilities include:

• Interpret project plans and specifications
• Conduct field inspections and maintain work item quantities
• Conduct field or laboratory material test
• Maintain project files and record drawings
• Prepare construction reports
• Perform soil erosion control and sediment control inspections
• Review technical data for adherence with project requirements
• Assist with preliminary project cost estimates and evaluate quantities
• Assist with/review scope, budget and schedule of new project tasks
• Monitor task budget and progress
• Prepare project status and other reports
• Assist in the preparation of proposals
• Assist Project Managers
• Attend client, public, project and staff meetings including client progress, plan review, preconstruction, etc.
• Attend seminars and/or training classes
• Maintain excellent client relations
• Maintain a safe working environment

Education:

• Pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in Civil, Environmental, Construction Engineering or Concrete Technology.

Skills/Experience:

• Valid Driver’s License
