Job summary

Wade Trim is seeking an Engineering Summer Intern for our Water Resources group in our Pittsburgh office. Candidates must be pursuing a bachelor’s degree in civil or environmental engineering and possess a valid driver’s license.

Familiarity with Microsoft Office is required; knowledge of GIS, AutoCAD, MicroStation, or Revit is preferred. Typical responsibilities include assisting senior engineers, obtaining drawings, analyzing rainfall and flow data, copying project drawings, and supporting

Qualifications

• Pursuing a bachelor’s degree in civil or environmental engineering.
• Valid driver’s license is required.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Office is required; knowledge of GIS, AutoCAD, MicroStation, or Revit is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist senior engineers with data collection and basic analyses.
• Gather drawings from local municipalities.
• Analyze rainfall and flow data.
• Digitize project drawings and maintain records.
• Assist engineers with spreadsheet tools development.
• Coordinate with planning, design, hydraulics and hydrology teams.
• Support project managers and engineers during tasks.

Position Description:

Wade Trim is seeking an Engineering Summer Intern for our Water Resources group in our Pittsburgh office. Candidates must be pursuing a bachelor’s degree in civil or environmental engineering (freshman or sophomore status preferred) and possess valid driver’s license. Familiarity with Microsoft Office is required and knowledge of GIS, AutoCAD, MicroStation, or Revit is preferred. Candidates must be self‑motivated, very organized and have excellent communication skills.

Typical responsibilities include:

• Perform routine calculations under senior engineer


• Obtain drawings from local municipalities


• Perform data analysis of continuous flow and rainfall data


• Copy and scan project related drawings


• Assist engineer with development of spreadsheet tools


• Ability to work with project managers and engineers and take direction from them


• Work with the Planning department


• Work with the Design (structural) department


• Work with the Hydraulic and Hydrology department


• Communicate effectively with engineering staff and clients


• Maintain excellent client relations


• Maintain a safe working environment

Education:

• Pursing Bachelor’s Degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering

Skills/Experience:

• Valid Driver’s License
