Job summary

Wade Trim in Bay City, MI is seeking an Engineering Summer Intern for our Industrial Commercial Energy group. The role supports multiple engineering teams while you complete coursework and gain real-world experience in civil/environmental projects.

Candidates should be pursuing a bachelor's degree in civil or environmental engineering (sophomore/junior preferred) with a valid driver's license, and familiarity with Microsoft Office; GIS/AutoCAD/MicroStation/Revit are a plus.

Qualifications

• Must possess valid driver's license and be able to commute to Bay City.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine calculations under a senior engineer.
• Obtain drawings from local municipalities.
• Analyze rainfall and flow data.
• Assist with spreadsheet tool development.
• Support project managers and engineers.
• Coordinate with Planning, Design (structural), Hydraulic and Hydrology departments.
• Maintain client relations.
• Maintain a safe working environment.

Position Description:

Wade Trim is seeking an Engineering Summer Intern for our Industrial Commercial Energy group in our Bay City office. Candidates must be pursuing a bachelor’s degree in civil or environmental engineering (sophomore or junior status preferred) and possess valid driver’s license. Familiarity with Microsoft Office is required and knowledge of GIS, AutoCAD, MicroStation, or Revit is preferred. Candidates must be self-motivated, very organized and have excellent communication skills.

Typical responsibilities include:

• Perform routine calculations under senior engineer
• Obtain drawings from local municipalities
• Perform data analysis of continuous flow and rainfall data
• Copy and scan project related drawings
• Assist engineer with development of spreadsheet tools
• Ability to work with project managers and engineers and take direction from them
• Work with the Planning department
• Work with the Design (structural) department
• Work with the Hydraulic and Hydrology department
• Communicate effectively with engineering staff and clients
• Maintain excellent client relations
• Maintain a safe working environment

Education:

• Pursing Bachelor’s Degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering

Skills/Experience:

• Valid Driver’s License
