Job summary

Pratt & Whitney in East Hartford, CT is seeking an engineering professional to join the Compression Systems Engineering team focusing on structural analysis for fan, low/high pressure compressor components. You will apply robust analysis methods to ensure safe, reliable, and cost-effective designs.

Responsibilities include performing FEM analyses with Ansys and Teamcenter Simcenter, identifying risks, and collaborating with design and aero teams to advance both military and commercial engine

Qualifications

  • B.S. in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering with 2+ years of experience.
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract.
  • M.S. in Mechanical or Aerospace engineering
  • Mechanical Structures engineering experience
  • Proficiency in Teamcenter/Simcenter, Ansys, and classical methods of analysis
  • Candidate should have excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience in static hardware structural assessments.

  • Conducts structures analysis on components and assemblies to ensure cost efficiency, manufacturability, and reliability.
  • Identify structural risks within moderate scope to ensure project completion.
  • Help with new products and processes and improve existing products to meet business needs.
  • Perform Finite Element Analysis using Ansys and Teamcenter Simcenter.
  • Complete multidisciplinary task and/or work closely with other Cold Section Engineering disciplines (Design, Heat Transfer, Structures, and Aero).

Experience in commercial and military Fan, Low Pressure Compressor, and High Pressure Compressor analysis is a plus. What You Will Do

Compression Systems Engineering

Compression Systems Engineering (CSE) Compression Systems Engineering is responsible for the design, development, and in service support of all fans low-pressure and high-pressure compressors for commercial and military engine models. CSE is responsible for the identification and maturation of new technologies for these products. Technical disciplines in CSE include Project Engineering, Mechanical Design, Structural Analysis, and Product Definition.

Work Location & Hours

Onsite: Employees who are working in Onsite roles will work primarily onsite. This includes all production and maintenance employees, as they are essential to the development of our products. Candidates will learn more about role type and current site status throughout the recruiting process. For onsite and hybrid roles, commuting to and from the assigned site is the employee’s personal responsibility. Salary

The salary range for this role is 68,900 USD - 131,100 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
