Job summary

Pratt & Whitney in Middletown, CT is seeking a structural analyst to perform analyses of Fan, Low-Pressure Compressor components using hand calculations and finite element methods. You will work with the Integrated Product Team to translate results into recommendations and drive technical tasks to completion.

The role requires a B.S. in Engineering with 2 years of relevant experience, knowledge of airfoils/blades, and proficiency in structural FEM.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science in Engineering and 2 years of relevant experience.
  • Degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering.
  • Strong knowledge of Airfoils/Blades.
  • Proficiency in structural finite element methods.
  • Focus on results and the ability to drive tasks to completion.
  • Demonstrated experience with clear written and oral communication to convey results.

Responsibilities

  • Perform structural analysis of Fan, LPC components via hand calculations and finite element analysis.
  • Utilize analysis results to provide recommendations/proposals to the IPT.
  • Work closely with all engineering disciplines on the IPT to identify balanced solutions to technical tasks.
  • Utilize the latest P&W structural best practices and analytical tools.
  • Provide documentation of analyses in the form of formal reports and presentations for management and customers.
  • Identify structural risks within work of moderate scope to ensure project completion Travel up to 10%.

Salary

The salary range for this role is 68,900 USD - 131,100 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills. Hired applicants may be eligible for benefits, including but not limited to, medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short-term disability, long-term disability, 401(k) match, flexible spending accounts, flexible work schedules, employee assistance program, Employee Scholar Program, parental leave, paid time off, and holidays. Specific benefits are dependent upon the specific business unit as well as whether or not the position is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement.
