Qualifications

  • Senior: 8+ years of engineering experience in natural gas or petrochemical environments.
  • Staff: 15+ years of engineering experience in natural gas or petrochemical environments.

Responsibilities

  • Performs technical and economic evaluation for major projects.
  • Directs work of other engineers and staff on rotating equipment projects.
  • Prepares and delivers technical presentations to management.
  • Maintains understanding of industry standards and safety policies.
  • Defines maintenance practices for gas/steam turbine systems.

Role Overview

As a Turbine Engineer Power Senior/Staff, you will work independently to anticipate internal and external business trends on major projects and recommend improvements to policies, procedures, and standards. You will advise and deliver technical presentations to our management team and direct the work of others which will be key to your success! The role supports major gas compression and power generation projects independently, applying 15+ years of industry expertise and excellent interpersonal skills. This role will anticipate internal and external business trends and author improvements to enterprise policies and procedures. Advising our leadership team and directing the work of others are keys to success!


Responsibilities and Expectations

Performs technical and economic evaluation, performance testing, design and construction of new facilities, or upgrading existing facilities, and research on new developments Accounts for a diverse range of sophisticated assignments requiring the use of experience, innovation and judgment; may direct work of other engineers and/or support staff Serves as a technical specialist in rotating equipment and reciprocating turbines Applies specialized knowledge in the effective completion of major projects Prepares and delivers presentations Anticipates our internal/external customer needs; assesses requirements and identifies solutions Maintains a strong understanding of our industry and operational requirements; champions best standards and safety standards Interprets internal/external business challenges and improves products, processes or services Collaborates with others to ensure compliance, build improvement plans and meet training needs Monitors and controls costs and resources associated with projects Serves as the highest technical subject matter expert in gas turbine, steam turbine, and waste heat design for both gas compression and power generation. Defines pragmatic maintenance practices to driver and driven equipment Understand and modify controls logic across various platforms Expertise in turbine engine, package, and generator controls technology Performs technical analysis of various generator manufacturer 5MW and larger Analyzes equipment reliability, generator vibration, generator health with transient loading, and generator protection Other duties as assigned


Education and Experience Requirements

Senior: Required: Bachelor’s Degree in relevant Engineering field from an accredited college or university, OR Bachelor's Degree in Engineering Technology in a relevant field with Professional Engineer (P.E.) license; A minimum of eight (8) years of engineering experience in the natural gas or petrochemical industry


Staff: Required: Bachelor’s Degree in relevant Engineering field from an accredited college or university, OR Bachelor's Degree in Engineering Technology in a relevant field with Professional Engineer (P.E.) license; A minimum of fifteen (15) years of engineering experience in the natural gas or petrochemical industry


Other Requirements

Demonstrates excellent organizational/interpersonal skills and safety as the utmost priority


Proficiency in Microsoft Office Applications and PC skills


Demonstrates expertise in rotating equipment, specifically reciprocating turbines


Preferred: Project management experience
