Dominion Energy is currently seeking experienced engineers for the Electrical and I&C Systems department in Site Engineering at the Millstone Power Station in Waterford, CT. Positions will be filled at the level commensurate with the successful candidate’s education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities. The candidate will fill a position in the Electrical and I&C System Engineering Group. The primary area of focus will be electrical systems engineering in support of operating Millstone Units 2 & 3.
Specific duties include:
The candidate will work in a broad range of Electrical Power and I&C issues both on the component and system level. Candidates will be expected to have familiarity with nuclear power plant design, including the Electrical Distribution System and/or the Instrumentation and Control Systems at the station. A training program will be provided for the new candidate to obtain a required basic level of knowledge for understanding plant design basis, operations, maintenance as well as work planning structure, including normal and emergency operating procedures.
The knowledge, skills, abilities and experience required for entry into this job include the following: 2-5 years of experience: Engineer; 5-7 years of experience: Senior Engineer; 8+ years of experience: Staff Engineer. Engineering Technical Specialist II: 3+ years of relevant engineering experience. Engineering Technical Specialist III: 5+ years of relevant engineering experience.
Note: A partial year of work experience of 6 months or greater will count as one year toward the required years of experience. A Master's degree will count as one year toward the years of experience.
Knowledge and application of engineering theories and principles, concepts, and fundamentals; Requires developmental experience in a professional engineering position; Competency in applying engineering principles, fundamental concepts, practices and procedures requiring some evaluation, originality and/or ingenuity to achieve project objectives; Understands and can apply knowledge of configuration management; Ability to perform engineering calculations using applicable software programs (e.g. Matlab, Excel, etc.); Planning, organizational and project management skills; Ability to develop and exercise leadership skills; Effective decision-making skills; Effective oral and written communication skills (includes technical writing); Ability to think analytically and solve complex problems; Ability to interpret codes, regulations and practices; Equally effective working independently or in a team environment; Ability to process information quickly and effectively manage multiple tasks.
For placement of a candidate in the Engineer job series, the following criteria must be met:

Bachelor’s in Engineering
Preferred Discipline(s): Engineering, Electrical or I&C preferred. Engineering Technical Specialist can hold a BS Degree in another technical field OR additional relevant engineering experience. Other disciplines may be substituted for the preferred discipline(s) listed above.
