Job summary

Intercontinental Exchange, Inc. is seeking a Systems Engineer to maintain high availability across mixed Linux and Windows environments, collaborating with configuration analysts, release engineers, developers, and operations teams.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of Linux experience (RedHat preferred).
• 2+ years Windows Server experience.
• 2+ years container tech experience (Docker/Kubernetes).
• Experience with automation/configuration management (Ansible, Puppet, Chef).
• Experience with source control (Git, Bitbucket, SVN).
• Strong problem solving and analytics.
• Fluent English communication.

Responsibilities

The Systems Engineer is responsible for creating and maintaining availability and high-performance in mixed Linux and Windows development, non-production, and production environments. This individual works as part of a results-oriented, service-delivery team and assists configuration analysts, release engineers, developers, and operations teams. Additionally, the Systems Engineer performs root cause analysis of problems, selects and implements automation tools, and actively participates in deeply technical discourse.

Responsibilities

Knowledge and Experience

• 3+ years of experience with Linux operating systems (RedHat variants preferred)
• 2+ years of experience with Windows Server operating systems
• 2+ years of experience with container technologies (Docker, Kubernetes, OpenShift, Tanzu, etc)
• Experience with deploying and supporting both physical and virtual infrastructure
• Solid experience coding with any combination of Python, Ruby and/or GoLang scripting and automation
• Experience with automation/configuration management using either Puppet, Chef, Ansible, or equivalent
• Familiarity with source control tools, such as git, Bitbucket, SVN or others
• Demonstrable knowledge of multi-tiered, highly available, and resilient application design
• Knowledge of horizontal and vertical scaling for performance and high availability
• Top-tier analytics and problem solving
• Ability to work in a service-oriented team environment
• Project Management, organization, and time management
• Customer-focused, and dedicated to the best possible user experience
• Communicate effectively with both technical and business resources
• Fluent speaking, reading, and writing in English

Desired

• Bachelors Degree in engineering discipline or equivalent experience in Systems Engineering
• Familiar with deployment automation and orchestration (Jenkins preferred)
• Experience packaging windows software with Chocolatey
