Job summary

Toyota North America is seeking a seasoned engineer to lead building design and construction efforts at TMMI. You will develop architectural, mechanical, electrical, and civil criteria, and provide SME support for plants and offices across sites.

Role requires 5+ years in building projects, strong MS Office, AutoCAD/Bluebeam skills, and up to 25% travel, including international trips. Relocation and benefits accompany a robust engineering career path.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s (Mechanical or Electrical Engineer) or 5+ years equivalent experience.
• 5+ years of experience in building design and construction.
• 5+ years of experience in manufacturing plants and office buildings and building related systems (piping, power distribution, office interiors, concrete, and structural work).
• 5+ years of experience in project management of manufacturing plant construction projects.
• Intermediate level experience of computer skills (Microsoft Office – Teams, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project and Outlook, Bluebeam/AutoCAD).
• Able to travel up to 25%, and able to travel internationally (Canada, Mexico, Japan, etc.).

Responsibilities

• Offering technical support to projects at TMMI in the areas of building design and construction, including development and maintaining building related standards.
• Developing criteria (architectural, mechanical, electrical, fire protection, civil/structural, etc.) for design of buildings, trailer yards, and parking lots.
• Providing Subject Matter expertise for manufacturing plants and office buildings and building related systems as technical support for local facility groups at each site, as well as for submittals during project management.
• Leveraging experience in pre-construction planning, project management, construction, and building design to ensure projects are designed and built to quality, cost, schedule and safety KPIs.
• Ensuring customer satisfaction with proper communication and consensus with customer to support their needs.
• Developing internal standard operating procedures & shikumis (work instruction sheets) for the section.

• 5+ years of experience in industrial power systems (switchgear, power distribution systems, 480VAC and higher).
