Job summary

Chicago Magnesium Casting Co in Blue Island, IL is seeking an engineering professional to plan, organize, evaluate and lead initiatives and product launches that improve manufacturing methods, tooling and equipment capabilities. Qualifications

  • BS degree in a related field preferred.
  • 2–4 years of manufacturing/engineering experience.
  • Project management certification desired

Responsibilities

  • Provide engineering support to production through managing launch projects.
  • Evaluate processes applying knowledge of product design, fabrication, assembly, tooling and materials; confer with equipment vendors; solicit observations from operators.
  • Develop manufacturing processes by studying product requirements; researching, modifying and testing manufacturing methods and equipment.
  • Assure product and process quality by designing testing methods, testing finished product and process capabilities; establish standards; confirm manufacturing processes.
  • Improve manufacturing efficiency by analyzing and planning work flow, space requirements and equipment layout.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of tool and fixture modifications and process changes.
  • Assist in investigating customer reported nonconformance issues and provide support in resolving complaints, and corrective actions in a timely manner as assigned.
  • Model and enforce plant safety practices, oversee orientation of safety and emergency evacuation with direct employees and report possible safety hazards or problems to management.
  • Assist with other duties as assigned by management.
