Job summary

Qarbon Aerospace Inc. in Milledgeville, GA, is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer specializing in Catia-based NC programming for complex composite parts.

You will develop machining programs, select cutters, and optimize processes for five-axis mills and related equipment, ensuring manufacturability and quality while adhering to ITAR requirements. The role requires a Bachelor's degree with 0+ years of related experience and hands-on CNC tooling knowledge.

Qualifications

  • Catia and related software such as Vericut, Fibersim, PowerInspect must be used.
  • GD&T knowledge is required.
  • 2D drawing evaluation and interpretation.
  • Operational knowledge and hands-on support of CNC equipment including 5-axis mills, water jet, and inspection equipment.
  • Composite machining, honeycomb core is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze engineering drawings and Catia models to define configuration of parts and determine type and sequence of machine operations.
  • Develop programs for machining parts and sheet metal on numerically controlled machine tools.
  • Make proper cutter selections, considering speeds, cutters, feeds, and control limitations.
  • Select program routines for efficient numerical calculation of dimensional and machining requirements.
  • Test and modify existing parts programs for engineering changes or improvements.
  • Provide input for engineering efforts required for new programs.
  • Extensively use Catia for manufacturability and quality analyses; evaluate relationships between parts and fixtures.
  • Utilize validation software to ensure no interference between machines, tooling, and parts.
  • Use probing for setups, tooling inspections, part quality inspections, and machine inspections.
  • Design and build composite tooling for part curing, fixtures for NC machining, and assembly operations.

Position Overview
  • Analyzes engineering drawings and Catia models to define configuration of parts and determine type and sequence of machine operations.

    • Relationships between parts, layup modes, mill fixtures, assembly jigs
  • Utilize validation software to ensure no interference between machines, tooling, and parts
  • Utilize probing for set ups, tooling inspections, part quality inspections, and machine inspections
  • Design and build composite tooling for part curing, fixtures for NC machining, and assembly operations
Experience and Education Requirements
  • Level I: Bachelor's degree or equivalent and 0-2 years of related experience
  • Level II: Bachelor's degree or equivalent and 3-6 years of related experience
  • Level III: Bachelor's degree or equivalent and 7+ years of related experience
  • Must be a US Citizen or a Permanent resident per ITAR (International Traffic in Arms Regulations) guidelines.
  • This position is not eligible for Visa sponsorship or a foreign person per ITAR.
