Job summary

Qarbon Aerospace seeks a skilled CNC programmer to analyze engineering drawings and Catia models, defining part configurations and machine operation sequences for aerospace components.

You will develop programs for machining parts, select cutters, and optimize speeds/feeds while ensuring manufacturability and quality. Expertise with Vericut, Fibersim, and PowerInspect is a plus in a high-precision environment.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent and related engineering experience.
  • CATIA and related software such as Vericut, Fibersim and PowerInspect.
  • GD&T and 2D drawing evaluation and interpretation.

Position Overview

  • Analyzes engineering drawings and Catia models to define configuration of parts and determine type and sequence of machine operations.
    • Develop programs for machining parts, tools, or sheet metal on numerically controlled machine tools.
    • Makes proper cutter selections for each part, taking into consideration such factors as speeds, types of cutters, feeds, and control system limitations.
    • Selects program routines for the most efficient computer calculation of dimensional and machining requirements for each part.
    • Test and modifies existing parts programs for engineering changes or program improvements.
    • Provide input for engineering efforts required for new programs.
  • Extensive use of Catia for engineering evaluations to include
    • Manufacturability
    • Quality analysis of critical features
    • Relationships between parts, layup modes, mill fixtures, assembly jigs
  • Utilize validation software to ensure no interference between machines, tooling, and parts
  • Utilize probing for set ups, tooling inspections, part quality inspections, and machine inspections
  • Design and build composite tooling for part curing, fixtures for NC machining, and assembly operations

Experience and Education Requirements

  • Level I: Bachelor's degree or equivalent and 0-2 years of related experience
  • Level II: Bachelor's degree or equivalent and 3-6 years of related experience
  • Level III: Bachelor's degree or equivalent and 7+ years of related experience
  • Must be a US Citizen or a Permanent resident per ITAR (International Traffic in Arms Regulations) guidelines.
  • This position is not eligible for Visa sponsorship or a foreign person per ITAR.
  • Catia and related software such as Vericut, Fibersim, PowerInspect
  • GD&T
  • 2D drawing evaluation and interpretation
  • Operational knowledge and hands on support of CNC equipment including 5 axis mills, water jet, and inspection equipment
  • Composite machining, honeycomb core is a plus
